Hi! Wouldn’t it be great if yoga philosophy and study were integrated into our daily lives? I’ve taken a few classes and practice yoga now and again, but my friends and I are more interested in making a commitment to yoga study and lifestyle. We decided, one way in which to do this is by starting a blog together. Our blog, Breathe Yoga, will be a place to expand our thoughts and experiences with yoga from classes and practice sessions to our daily and internet lives. Hopefully we’ll stumble on some interesting tips and information to improve our understanding of this ancient practice.

The first aspect of yoga I have been thinking about lately is breathing. I never realized how often I hold my breath and tense up. So lately I have been concentrating on breathing more throughout the day. I take big breaths not only to expand my lungs, but I also expand my experience in my body. When I breathe out, I try to let go of all the tension in my mind and body. It’s not as easy as it sounds especially on busy days, but it’s always worth it.
